A customized boutique chocolate shop that allows its customers to order a gift and boxes of chocolates for their loved ones in honor of Valentine’s Day. The project was inspired by Japanese Valentine’s Day where girls give gifts to the men in their lives, especially chocolates that are personally prepared
Valentine's Day
Giving chocolate on Valentine’s Day is a tradition that began in the 19th century when heart-shaped chocolate boxes were created by Richard Cadbury. Chocolate has become a symbol of love and is often given as a gift to show care and appreciation.
Valentine's Day in Japan
In Japan, Valentine’s Day is primarily celebrated by women who give chocolates to men in their lives. There are two types of chocolates given: “Giri-choco” for obligation and “Honmei-choco” for romantic interests. On March 14th, men are expected to return the favor on “White Day” by giving gifts to the women who gave them chocolates on Valentine’s Day.
